The Biodiversity Challenge featured in AGRI4POL, PollinERA, WildPosh and VALOR newsletters

The Biodiversity Forecasting Challenge that the ANTENNA project has launched in collaboration with its partners EBD-CSIC and the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) has already generated great interest and received extensive coverage. Four pollinator-related projects featured the challenge in their newsletters. It was also showcased at the XIII European Congress of Entomology.

The WildPosh project spring newsletter provides an overview of WildPosh’s key achievements and activities from the last few months, including a new WildPosh study on oral toxicology test protocol for hoverflies; a joint WildPosh and PollinERA push for broader risk assessment; and more. The newsletter also highlights ANTENNA’s Biodiversity Forecasting Challenge and encourages its subscribers to try it out.

The VALOR project announces in its newsletter that it has taken over the Safeguard Knowledge Exchange Hub (Safe-Hub) to host its outputs in a dedicated section. It also shares insights from its narrative scenario workshop in Turin, Italy, and gives updates from fieldwork for recording plant-pollinator interaction networks across different habitat types.

The PollinERA project shares its new policy brief in its newsletter, which proposes a regional budget system for pesticide management in Europe; four PollinERA project deliverables available in the Research Ideas and Outcomes (RIO) journal; the social media campaign #PollinERAexplained; and additional insights.

The AGRI4POL project newsletter’s focus is on the completion of its major field season with a large trial on the attractiveness of different faba bean genotypes to pollinators; it also includes a video with HelEx with a product collection ‘Made from Sunflower‘ that bridges genetic research and real-world agricultural practice; AGRI4POL's participation at the World Biodiversity Forum in Davos, and some other key updates.

In addition to these newsletters, the Biodiversity Forecasting Challenge was also showcased at the XIII European Congress of Entomology during a science communication workshop by our communication partner, Pensoft, on 30 June 2026, as an example of an engaging and accessible way to illustrate the challenges and considerations involved in predicting species abundance.
